The following documents will be required to be submitted to apply for ration card
- aadhar card
- Residence certificate
- Identity proof of head of family
- Pattern of family income
The validity of the ration card is usually five years and you have to apply to the food department of your state to renew it
If you do not have a ration card, you can apply for one by visiting the website of your state food department or by visiting the nearest food department office.

The following steps are to be followed to apply online.
- First, go to your state’s food department website https://fcsca.gujarat.gov.in/
- Find a link like Add Member to Ration Card or Add Name to Ration Card in it
- Click on the link and open the application form
- Fill the required information in the form like your name ration card number child’s name date of birth residential proof aadhaar card number etc.
- Upload scanned copies of required documents along with your application
- Pay the application fee
- Submit an application.
After submitting the application you will receive an application number you can use this application number to check the status of your application.
Once the application is verified the child’s name will be added to your ration card This process usually takes 10 to 15 days.
